Auburn, NY is lovingly considered “History’s Hometown” by many. It is a part of Cayuga County in central New York. It is where Harriet Tubman and William H. Seward lived while they both attempted to help slaves reach freedom via the Underground Railroad. You can visit the William H. Seward House Museum and the house where Harriet Tubman lived. While here, you can also visit the Fort Hill Cemetery. At one time, in 1815, Auburn was considered the largest village in central or western NY. Today, it is a popular tourist area for people who are interested in black history, but there are many other things to see in and around Auburn.
